He has been a featured presenter for the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services, and numerous state correctional facilities, including Ellsworth Correctional Facility, Crossroads Correctional Center, Western Missouri Correctional Center, and the Missouri Restorative Justice Conference. His inspiring message of redemption also earned him the honor of commencement speaker for Highland Community College and a feature in Victorious Living Magazine.
With a passion for spiritual transformation, Stephen has served as a Chaplain at Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago, Men’s Division Director at Pacific Garden Mission, and has preached across Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. He studied Biblical Studies at Moody Bible Institute and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Trinity International University.
A devoted husband to Deidre Anderson-Barbee, proud father to Latasha, Stephen, Sherell, Skyelar, and Bria, and grandfather to Ryeanne, Renae, Briaelle, Zya, and Adonis, Stephen’s legacy is deeply personal. His journey—from Dreams to Destruction, Disgrace to Deliverance—serves as the foundation for the hope he extends to others every day.
Whether in the pulpit, behind prison walls, or across community networks, Stephen Barbee’s life is a testament to the power of transformation, resilience, and God’s redemptive grace.

While in FCI Forrest City Federal Prison from October 2010 to January 2012 I was wrestling with how my incarceration was going to work out for God's Good? The following scripture came to mind:
Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
For the next 48-hours, I wrestled with this scripture! I believe God still speaks and I heard "You don't know your purpose"?
Your daily mission in which you love to do is your mission and your mission reveals your purpose and your purpose births you into your Destiny! On this day I developed my own personal mission statement. Since that day all I do is live out my personal mission statement!

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:15-17
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 6:4, Ephesians 4:4-6, Colossians 2:9 and 1 Timothy 3:16
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
Matthew 1:23, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Luke 4:18-19, Hebrews 9:14,22, Ephesians 1:20-23 and Revelations 22:12, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
John 3:16, Romans 3:23-25, Romans 6:23, Romans 10: 9-13 and Ephesians 2:8-9
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
John 14:26, John 14:16, 1 John 1:9, Romans 10:17 and Galatians 5:22-23
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 and Revelations 20;11-15
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:1-20 Ephesians 4:4-13
